I remember feeling a little stunned the first time I saw real Flamenco dancers. I was on vacation in Seville when I a small crowd standing around two women clapping and moving dramatically to a man wildly strumming a guitar. What was this fierce, bold dance style I was watching? I took pictures, but it didn't do it justice. I needed to recreate the spirit for myself. I used my thick, black watercolor brush to define her proud stance, and a touch of fiery red to accentuate the flow of her dress. Now I can always remember how lucky I was to witness this beautiful, exotic art form.
